The colormass PBR Library is built on proprietary hardware engineered for true SVBRDF capture. Our system directly measures the complex light scattering and absorption behavior across the material’s surface, rather than relying on traditional filter-based polarization or photogrammetry, resulting in significantly more accurate and richly detailed materials.

Captured using our proprietary SVBRDF measurement technology to extract pure, spatially-varying reflectance data. Engineered for artists who require mathematically flawless light response straight out of the box. Traditional capture methods struggle to accurately reproduce complex specular behavior, micro-roughness, and anisotropic highlights, often forcing artists to manually compensate for this after the fact. By measuring direct SVBRDF properties, the colormass scanner doesn't just capture simple properties (like normal map or perfect reflections) that you can easily capture with a cross polirizing filter and simple algorithms, it captures the underlying physics of how it behaves.

The library is a new initiative by the colormass team and currently features a limited number of high-quality scans. For our initial subscribers, we’re accepting requests to digitize specific samples. If your request is feasible, we’ll include it in our upcoming releases.
